About Me: Why I’m fabulous and the universe loves me

This is my first post on Sci-fi Jedi so I thought I’d start with a little about who I am and why I’m awesome. Cause even though you don’t know it yet, I am.
For starters I’m a writer. Mostly of fantasy but I do mainstream when the mood hits. I’ve written non fiction too, including articles on writing . I would say I have a great sense of humor but I happen to think that people who say that actually don’t.
In this blog I hope to do several things; first, and most important, to have fun, second to speak my mind and third to annoy the hell and/or offend someone. Those are basically my goals in all aspects of my life and this blog shouldn’t be any different.
However, before we begin this journey together there are several things you should know about me, secrets that I don’t usually let strangers in on. But since you’re about to be spending some time with me I suppose we’re not really going to be strangers.
- Hidden beneath layers of steely fortitude I’m really a very nice person. But don’t tell anyone that because I can only be nice to so many people at a time.
- I’m incredibly protective of my friends, and the things I value.
- I secretly wish that Armageddon would hurry up and come so I’d have a valid reason to use weapons without my bleeding-heart liberal side getting all offended. Along this same line, I think we should all do our parts to bring swords back into fashion.
- You can really only take about five percent of what I say seriously. The rest is bullshit, exaggeration, or the product of wishful thinking.
- I used to write fan fiction, and occasionally I still fill the urge to do so. I usually just take my medication and the urge passes, but not always.
- I often contradict myself. Could just be me changing my mind, or it could be my split personalities. Haven’t decided yet.
- Just between you and me…the chances are good I’ll piss you off about something. Allow me to apologize in advance but understand this is the only apology you’ll ever get and I’m only doing this because I’m in a generous mood.
Okay, well I think that should prepare you enough for what is to come. I’m really excited to get started working with all the wonderful people we have on this blog, and to start actively communicating with other sci-fi and fantasy fans. Hope to see you again.
